With Early Reflections, Oliver Hartmann opens the archives of his early work. The LP brings together eight techno tracks recorded in his home studio under his moniker Insect O. between 2000 and 2003.

I play electronic music live. For my performances I use my modular synthesizers, analog drum maschines and effect pedals. Together with visual artist highpitchedblack I work on AV live shows for DAVE Festival.

Modular synthesizers are electronic musical instruments composed of separate modules that can be connected in various ways to create custom soundscapes. I call this freedom in the creative process. The computer I use mainly as multitrack recorder.

Since the late 90s I produce electronic music under my artist name Insect O. My music is inspired by ambient and dub techno. Most of my music has been released on my own label Etui Records. In 2014 I co-founded DAVE Festival in Dresden. Since 2022 I'm studying media technology at IU - Internationale Hochschule.
